Storm Sentry™ – the Hurricane Rated Total Door System

Total Door has received its hurricane rating for our new Storm Sentry™ door from Certified Testing Laboratories (CTL) and our Miami-Dade County Notice of Acceptance (NOA) 03-0822.01 and 03-0822.02. We have also been approved by the State of Florida (FL3779) and the Texas Department of Insurance.

Total Door successfully passed CTL’s extensive hurricane testing protocols designed by Miami-Dade County. This included protocols PA201 – air infiltration, PA202 – three impacts from a 9 lb. 2x4 at 50 feet per second, and PA203 – positive and negative pressure cyclic testing. Ratings of 70 psf and 80 psf were reached for both out-swinging and in-swinging singles and pairs. The same doors were also fully operational after sustained loads of 180 psf on 6072 pairs without the use of a mullion.

Storm Sentry is the most cost effective hurricane solution available, both in terms of hardware and installation. Competitive products often require the installation of additional and unsightly hardware such as surface bolts and locks which could also block the means of egress.

The Storm Sentry door system is based on its’ standard full height, semi-concealed hinge and full-height locking channel designed for superior strength and installation flexibility. The system ships complete from the factory with all hardware installed, making installation by an authorized distributor a simple, straightforward job. Total Doors excel in solving problems in new or retro-fit construction where they can be quickly installed on new or existing frames without modification.

Storm Sentry is the hurricane door solution for updating schools, healthcare facilities, condos, malls, civic centers and other commercial facilities. Even if you don’t require hurricane rated doors, consider the high level of security Storm Sentry affords in an economical, easily installed door system.

Storm Sentry is available with a full line of hardware, including, levers, operating grips and panic exit devices. It is the only solution available with a lock/latch combination on in-swinging pairs.

NOTE: Hurricane rated doors must be ordered with 3/8" undercuts.
